St. Benedict's is hiring! Currently St. Benedict’s has two very accomplished learning specialists. As our preK-8 grade school continues to grow, we are looking for a teaching specialist to help students who are diagnosed with a learning difference while a student at St. Benedict’s; or help students who have returned to St. Benedict’s after remediation to continue a plan for specific learning difference. Duties of this role include:
Education Specialist with a Masters degree or years of experience in reading, phonic programs, such as, Orton-Gillingham.
Understand psychological evaluations, testing, and assessments.
Collaborate with grade level teachers and learning resource team.
Assist teachers to develop and implement learning accommodations.
Work in small groups of children with learning differences.
Train and work with all faculty to implement differentiated learning tactics.
Meet with parents and teachers to communicate learning differences, individual learning plans, and overall educational goals.
Supporting and strengthening the learning capabilities of each student
Positive management of the learning environment
Showing support and high esteem for St. Benedict’s Episcopal School at all times
Complying with conditions as stated in employee contract and handbook
Modeling appropriate behavior in speech and actions
Any other duties as assigned
Maintaining accurate, complete and appropriate records and files
Attending and participating in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policy
Qualifications: This teacher will commence their role in the Fall of 2018. Successful candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education required; Master’s degree preferred
teaching experience, preferably in an independent school setting
State of Georgia Teacher Certification strongly preferred
