SPA seeks candidates for the position of Middle School Social Studies/English Teacher. This is a full-time, permanent position beginning in August of 2018. The primary assignment of the Middle School Social Studies/English Teacher will be to teach four Middle School courses in social studies and/or English, and to act as an advisor to a group of Middle School students. Additional responsibilities include: management and oversight of students throughout the day (including recess and quiet study periods), chaperoning of various events throughout the school year, participation in after-school events and overnight trips as assigned, participation in faculty meetings and forums, documentation and development of curriculum, and reporting to families. Demonstrated experience working with adolescents is essential, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong candidates will have experience teaching full time in a Middle School environment.
