Dwight-Englewood School, an independent PK-12 coeducational college preparatory school in Englewood, NJ is seeking an experienced Events Coordinator for the Office of Advancement which includes Admissions, Alumni Relations and Development. Interviews will start in early April and the start date is expected to be July 1, 2018.
Job Description and Requirements:
Reporting directly to the Director of Advancement, the Advancement Events Coordinator will support the planning and execution of all Advancement events held both on and off campus. Discretion and confidentiality are essential attributes of the successful candidate.
This position is responsible for working with members of the Advancement team to develop, plan, implement and evaluate a wide variety of events including Admissions Open Houses, Alumni Reunion, Donor Stewardship events and Grandparents Day. This position will have primary responsibility for specific revenue-producing special events such as the Bulldog Classic and our biennial Auction/Gala. Working closely with volunteer committees to design, plan and execute these events will be a major responsibility and will occupy 60 % of the position’s time.
This person must work in concert with the strategic goals of the Office of Advancement while developing and maintaining independent relationships with volunteers, donors, facilities and food service staff and vendors.
All aspects of producing each event are the responsibility of this person, from booking the venue, to preparing reports on the outcome of each event. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to work with the Directors of Admissions, Philanthropy, Alumni, Communications and Website Calendar manager.
Experience and Skills:
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of event planning experience and be a positive person equipped to handle multiple events at one time with grace and good humor. This person should work well and easily with all types of personalities and be a self-starter.
Excellent computer skills including expertise in Microsoft Office and the use of social media are required.
The successful candidate will possess great attention to detail and demonstrate the energy and dedication to take a project from start to finish.
