Augusta Prep (Martinez, GA), a non-sectarian, independent, college preparatory school in the Augusta area, is seeking a full time faculty member to teach in both Math and Science departments. The teacher will report to the Department Chairs for Math and Science and the Head of Upper School. Specific responsibilities for this position include the following:
Teaching five sections of a combination of Math (Algebra II and Statistics are ideal) and Science courses (Biology and/or Chemistry are ideal);
Providing academic support for students outside of class time and during daily extra help sessions as needed;
Serving as an advisor for 8 to 12 Upper School students;
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Science (Physics, Chemistry, or Biology) or related field is required.
Experience in secondary school education.
Familiarity with graphing calculator (TI-Nspire CAS currently in use). Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, and Excel, FAWeb grading software, Smartboard/Smart Notebook.
Ability to manage between 50 and 70 students, in five class groupings, with an additional advisory group of 8-12 students.
