High Point Academy is an independent coeducational day school. Founded in 1965, the school serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade. We are located in a suburban neighborhood, nestled in the foothills of Pasadena, CA.
This is a full-time faculty appointment for the 2018-19 school year. High Point seeks a dynamic, dedicated, and creative upper elementary classroom teacher.
Candidates should have classroom experience at the elementary and/or middle school level, experience in differentiated instruction and the use of technology to enhance the student experience. The school seeks candidates with a strong academic background, a commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning, and a genuine fondness for working with students. We strongly prefer teachers with a California or out-of-state teaching credential.
High Point Academy conducts a national background screening and fingerprinting process on job applicants upon acceptance of a contingent offer.
Teachers at High Point are highly skilled, and we seek teachers to join us who:
Hold a bachelor’s degree (required); advanced degrees/certification desirable
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred: minimum of three years teaching experience at the elementary and/or middle school level
Are collegial and collaborative in their interactions with colleagues
Are able to demonstrate success partnering with parents to support the educational needs of their students
Possess a growth mindset and a love of children and learning, patience, and highly developed organizational skills
