Ransom Everglades School is seeking applications for a full time teaching position in the History and Social Sciences Department. The ideal candidate will teach classes in the History and Social Sciences Department, contribute to departmental and faculty discussions, and be engaged in the life of the school. Candidates who can assist with coaching, robotics, and/or programs in the performing arts are especially encouraged to apply. Middle School students take World Geography and Cultures in the 6th grade, American History in the 7th grade, and the first half of a World History survey in the 8th grade. The student-centered, discussed-based pedagogy of Ransom Everglades is inspired by the Harkness method; Ransom Everglades seeks candidates comfortable with and enthusiastic to embrace this mode of learning, and with experience teaching with primary sources at the Middle School level. Candidates should be prepared to contribute to the department’s ongoing discussions about problem-based learning, digital and media literacy, interdisciplinary thinking, and research.

Prior independent school teaching experience is preferred.
Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
