VISUAL ARTS TEACHER – One Year Leave Replacement – 2018-2019 School Year

The Visual Art department seeks an art teacher for a one year leave replacement. The position covers Middle and Upper School classes including fiber arts, general 2D/3D courses, advanced high school 2D classes, and potentially art history and/or architecture. Ideal candidates will have a strong knowledge of child development and demonstrate experience and enthusiasm for teaching in the Middle and Upper School years. As this is a one year position, flexibility and an enthusiasm for collaboration are critical. Teachers in the Middle and Upper School also serve as an advisor to a group of students.
Experience teaching Middle and Upper School art
Knowledge of childhood development
Strong experience in drawing, painting, and fiber arts
Flexibility; ability to collaborate; enthusiasm for art education, Middle, and Upper School students
Strong verbal and written communication skills preferred
Experience working with 3D media
Studio and materials management skills
Ability to support each student’s artistic and personal growth
Comfort using technology in a mac/google environment
