Administer medications and treatments prescribed for patients.
Maintain records of diagnoses, treatments, and medications administered.
Prepare prescription records for doctor's signature.
Participate in controlling the inventory of narcotics and drugs.
Collect and analyze patient data, develop and implement nursing care plans, and evaluate patient's progress and nursing care given.
Conduct primary physical assessments, give emergency first-aid, record vital statistics, and initiate referrals to hospitals as necessary.
Provide counseling regarding health care practices and prescribed medical treatment.
Evaluate effectiveness of health care policies and procedures and submit recommendations for improvements.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
This a perdiem, non benefits eligible, academic year position. Shift differentials are paid for evening, night and weekend hours.
Graduation from accredited Diploma or Baccalaureate Nursing program, current nursing registration (or pending registration) from the State of Connecticut.
3 years experience as an RN in a Health Center, office or clinic.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently.
