SUMMARY STATEMENT: Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, the Director of Alumni Programs will oversee the growth of robust alumni programs in collaboration with the Alumni Association Board; work with others in the Development Office on the strategy and implementation of the Alumni Annual Fund; supervise all aspects of Reunion Weekend, Alumni Career Day, and Job Shadowing Day; lead social networking strategies and activities for alumni; and coordinate alumni content for the school’s website and Soundings magazine in conjunction with the communications team. This work will focus both locally and nationally towards the goal of increasing alumni engagement and giving. The Director will actively solicit and secure alumni gifts for both capital and annual funds. He/she will create and implement new initiatives to take a successful alumni program to the next level.
The Director of Alumni Programs must be creative in her/his work and motivated to build new opportunities. The person should be friendly, outgoing and willing to become an active member of a vibrant school and alumni community.
Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of demonstrated fundraising success in a non-profit or independent school setting
Demonstrated ability to strategize, implement and build constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers
Strong writing, planning and organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment to achieve institutional goals
High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
Experience with Raiser's Edge or a similar constituent database
Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed
