We seek to hire a junior kindergarten teacher at 85% FTE (ages 4-5) with an early childhood degree and a minimum of two years of experience. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a co-teacher and the junior kindergarten team, have a deep knowledge and understanding of early childhood development, facilitate differentiated lessons and hands-on project-based learning, and provide an atmosphere in which children feel safe, engaged, supported, and challenged. Ideally, the candidate would have a passion for diversity, equity, and social justice work and training.
Qualifications and Attributes:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
A minimum of two years of early childhood teacher experience
Understanding of learning styles and differentiated instruction
Ability to design and implement hands-on, experiential learning activities; an interest in gardening and nature studies is welcome
Affinity and enthusiasm for working with young children
Capacity to inspire others
Demonstrated enthusiasm, creativity, innovation, and the ability to manage classroom behavior
Excellent communication skills
Willingness to learn and improve professionally
Sound judgment and emotional maturity
Ability to collaborate and work with a team
Willingness to engage in all aspects of the LFCDS community
