Friends Seminary is seeking an experienced Head teacher for fourth grade for the 2018-2019 Academic year. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, flexibility and a passion for working with Lower School students. Solid collaboration skills are critical as this position requires working closely with grade level teachers and our content area specialists. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with the use of technology for teaching and learning in the classroom. Teacher will report to the Lower School Head, attend all faculty meetings, write student reports and hold regular parent/teacher conferences.
This position is ideal for the dynamic, knowledgeable, and collaborative teacher who has experience designing, planning and implementing curriculum for upper elementary grades. Fostering a classroom with a focus on inquiry based learning and the active exchange of ideas is central to our Lower School program.
In support of the Friends Seminary mission, all candidates must be prepared to view curriculum as well as classroom and school culture through a lens focused on the core values of equality, diversity, and community engagement.
This is a full time position with competitive salary commensurate with experience. BA required, MA preferred.
