The High School High Scholar (HS)2 Summer Program at Colorado Rocky Mountain School is currently hiring one 5-week Teaching Position in Physics from June 21 through July 27. The person in this position will teach two separate sections of Physics, each section is two hours per day, M-F for a total of 20 hours per week (adding up to 100 hours of classroom time over the summer). The position also includes tutoring students during study hall two to three evenings per week from 7:30-9:00pm. Teachers are also asked to chaperone one on-campus social event and one off-campus trip during the summer. Teachers do not have any dormitory responsibilities.
Established in 2007, High School High Scholar (HS)2 is a rigorous STEM-based summer enrichment program at Colorado Rocky Mountain School that transforms the lives of promising high school students from underserved communities by inspiring them to reach their full potential, preparing them for college and empowering them for success in the world.
Dates: Teachers arrive on campus by Thursday, June 21 and depart after completing all their responsibilities, between Saturday July 28 and Monday, July 30. For the 2018 summer session, students will arrive on campus on Monday, June 25 and depart Saturday, July 28.
Applicants must have at least three years of teaching experience or at least one year of teaching in a boarding high school. Strong candidates have significant teaching experience, a mastery of teaching project-based Physics, and a love of working with high school students.
Additional Salary Information: Compensation for this 5-week (HS)2 Physics Teaching Position is $5,000 plus room and board. ($2,500/class section)
