Germantown Academy, located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, is seeking qualified, experienced candidates for the position of Middle School Art Intern, beginning August, 2018. This is a 10-month position. The Academy, founded in 1759, is a non-sectarian, coeducational, college preparatory school of more than 1,100 students in Grades PK-12, located in the northwest suburbs of Philadelphia on a campus of 126 acres. The Art Intern will be working for the Middle School art teachers. Duties vary depending on the needs of each teacher. The work ranges from general classroom prep duties to highly specialized assistance. This position will include the photography, mounting, and display of student artwork.
We are seeking an individual with a fine art background and experience working with clay, various drawing materials, paper, wood, printmaking and technology. Sharp attention to detail and strong communication skills are a must.
The position is for school year 2018-19. This position is for 15 hours a week, and may include opportunities for additional hours as a substitute.
