The Kew-Forest School seeks a dynamic, hardworking, full-time Upper School Biology Teacher for the 2018-19 school year and beyond.
The ideal candidate is: someone who understands and enjoys high school students and encourages them to engage with the content; and someone who loves science and inspires students to love it as well.
Other ideal attributes include a sense of humor, commitment, patience, positive energy, and clarity – the ability to explain math in a way that anyone can understand.
Finally, the teacher should model and promote character, respect, and honesty.
The teacher will teach four sections including Biology, AP Biology, and at least one elective science course.
Teaching experience, preferably in the independent school world;
Degree in science or related subject or comparable experience with biology and/or other sciences;
Experience with AP Biology curriculum preferred;
Supportive, student-centered approach, geared toward students with a variety of levels and learning styles;
Desire to mentor students in an advisory role outside the classroom.
