Parker School seeks an experienced full-time History Teacher to instruct upper school students in a college-preparatory environment and assist with coaching competitive speech and debate. As a full-time faculty member, she/he will teach 4-5 preparations of History, assist in coaching the interscholastic speech and debate team, communicate with students, families and colleagues, fulfill faculty duties, and participate in extracurricular activities.
Qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) with prior experience teaching history (World History, Western Civilizations and/or US History) and competitive speech and debate.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: willingness and ability to learn, participate, and be active in a private school community; strong problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, and teamwork skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills; self motivated with high work standards and attention to detail. Some travel with the Speech and Debate team is required.
