Moravian Academy is seeking a passionate and dynamic faculty member to teach physical education and health classes and to lead wellness activities for students in grades 6-8. This position works collaboratively with a close knit department dedicated to improving the mind, body, and spirit of each student.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach physical education classes required for all middle school students
Teach health classes required for all middle school students
Lead an advisory group of 8-12 students
Write trimester progress reports and report cards
Understand, communicate, and exemplify the goals and vision of the organization
Fulfill all duties expected of fulltime Middle School faculty, including, but not limited to, chaperone duties
Ability to coach an athletic team(s)
Attend meetings of the allschool physical education and health department to ensure a vertical and horizontal curriculum
Attend Middle School divisional meetings

Two years minimum experience teaching Physical Education and Health; independent school background preferred
Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred

Founded in 1742, Moravian Academy is a coeducational primer-grade 12 independent college preparatory school. The Academy, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, has an enrollment of over 730 students. The school has three divisions: the lower school (primer-grade 5), the middle school (grades 6-8) and the upper school (grades 9-12).
