The iHOPE Academy is a New York City based independent school that specializes in students with Traumatic Brain Injuries and other brain-based disorders. The mission is to transform the manner in which educational services are delivered to students with brain injury and to be a leader in advancing evidence-based services to these students.
JOB TITLE: Paraprofessional Manager
REPORTS TO: Program Director
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, observing, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing school, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and best practice standards; analyzing and resolving quality and work-related issues; identifying trends; recommending specific work improvements.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Assisting program directors with specific school duties (i.e. contacting parents, DOE and bus companies.)
Providing accurate work hours for hourly staff; submit hours to payroll on submission dates.
Maintaining and tracking staff records on a weekly basis.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Experience, skills and qualifications:
Experience providing support to the full employee life cycle (e.g. recruiting, on-boarding, termination)
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel required; knowledge of PowerPoint a plus
Must be well-organized with superior attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Able to work with a great degree of independence and successfully navigate a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
