We are seeking candidates for a full-time Upper School Spanish teaching position for the 2018-2019 school-year. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Spanish, French, and English and also have Upper School teaching experience. However, candidates with either French or Spanish and English will be considered. This person will teach in the Upper School and will be instrumental in contributing to the growth of the World Language curriculum. Knowledge of the ACTFL Proficiency Standards and Can-Do curriculum, AP Spanish Language and Culture curriculum, and implementation of authentic materials in the World Language classroom are desirable. We are searching for someone who is adaptive and willing to adjust to differing student needs. This candidate will be open to professional development and feedback. In addition, this person must be highly organized, efficient, and someone who relates well with students, faculty, and parents. This person will work closely with our Upper School World Language Department and will collaborate with a wide range of other faculty members. A willingness to participate in international travel with students is also a plus. Cannon faculty are assigned a variety of duties including, but not limited to advising students, leading extra-curricular activities, and attending faculty meetings.
Education/Experience Requirements: BA in Spanish, French, Education or relevant study. 2-3 years high school teaching experience, preferred.
