The Helix School, located in Mill Valley, is a school for children with autism. The Helix School is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, seasoned Director of Development (DD) to create a comprehensive development strategy and execute against this plan. This person should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and thrive on connecting with people. This is a contractor position with potential to become an employee of the school after 6 months. This position is 20 hours/week and reports to the Executive Director of Strategy and Growth and works directly with the Board Chair and Founder.
Implements and Leads the school's on-going development activities including: Annual Fund, Major Gifts, Special Events, Grants, & Capital Campaign
Create and implement development strategies and practices that will help the school sustain and grow its operation and fulfill its mission
Cultivates and develops donor relationships, including donor recognition and stewardship.
Conduct high-level prospect research to create new relationships
Presents to the Board of Directors an annual development plan for the organization outlining specific goals.
Works with the Board to reach fundraising goals, to engage the Board in fundraising activities, and to identify new individual and corporate funding prospects.
Manages ongoing reporting to the Board of Directors as it relates to Development, Special Event, Communication/Marketing and Capital Campaign, along with any other special committees, at the request of the BOD.
Oversees all aspects of the grants program, including timely submissions, tracking, reports, and acknowledgments.
Prepares the annual development department income and expense budget and is responsible for meeting budget income and expense goals.
Oversees the overall management of the fundraising database.
Directs timely and accurate response to donor concerns, requests, and gifts.
Develops and maintains relationships with foundation and corporate funders.
Represents The Helix School to other organizations, our community and professional events
