Greens Farms Academy seeks an Upper School History and Global Studies Teacher to begin in August 2018. The teacher will cross over between these two academic departments. Courses will mostly likely include world history (ancient to modern) and Big Histories (a 9th grade interdisciplinary, systems approach to world history). Experience with American History or American Studies is a plus. There may also be opportunities to mentor seniors engaged in a Global Thesis, a requirement for those students pursuing a concentration in Global Studies. The ideal candidate will have a background in the humanities, an advanced degree in a relevant field, at least three years teaching experience, an interest in interdisciplinary learning, experience in and a passion for working with young people, and a commitment to fostering aninclusive community. Non-teaching duties will include advising, chaperoning trips, leading extracurricular clubs and/or coaching.
