3rd Grade Self-Contained Homeroom Teacher, beginning August 21, 2018
St. Edmund’s Academy seeks a dedicated and dynamic teacher with a minimum of 3 years of current experience for a self-contained, Third Grade homeroom teacher position. The 3rd grade homeroom teacher works with students in his/her individual, self-contained classroom and collaboratively with the other Third Grade homeroom teacher.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching all language arts, math and social studies classes, in addition to ‘homeroom’ teacher responsibilities. The Third Grade teacher will be responsible for designing curriculum, planning lessons, and working closely with the Director of Early Childhood & Lower School and Academic Dean to ensure alignment of the school’s philosophy in curriculum and practices.
Candidates must have superior teaching skills, excellent writing skills and strong verbal communication. The ability to be collaborative, detail-oriented and innovative is essential. Teachers dedicated to meeting the academic and personal needs of the students and collaborating with colleagues and parents should apply. A Bachelor’s degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education is required; a Master’s degree preferred.
