The Nichols School will be hiring a full time, qualified French instructor in the Modern and Classical Languages Department beginning with the 2018-2019 school year. Candidates will be expected to teach four sections of high school French and perform additional extracurricular duties based on experience or needs of the school.
Characteristics of the successful candidate include:
ability to cultivate a creative and engaging learning environment for students
passion for fostering cross-cultural awareness and understanding, both inside and outside of the classroom
demonstrable expertise in the French language and francophone culture
strong focus on an immersive approach to teaching French in which students are actively developing the skills to express themselves in the target language
an ability to work effectively with students at all levels of French linguistic talent
an interest in developing original curricular material
familiarity with the Advanced Placement curriculum in French; experience with teaching AP French is particularly desirable
ability to teach lower level Spanish classes is a plus
ability to travel with students on exchange program
experience in working with high school students
