The Fellows Program at TASIS’s High School is meant to take aspiring teachers and help them develop the skills necessary to become effective and engaged educators. TASIS, as a boarding school, will utilize its experienced teachers to mentor fellows both in and out of the classroom. A qualified candidate will be outgoing, engaged, and serious in their pursuit of growing into a career in independent or international school education. Possessing a European or United Kingdom passport is a plus.
While no list is exhaustive, TASIS fellows can expect to have the following responsibilities:
Teaching opportunities under the supervision of an experienced TASIS faculty member. TASIS fellows may be able to take ownership of teaching a class in a subject area that fits with their background.
Serve as a substitute
Supervise detention on Fridays
Supervise Study Hall
Co-chaperone two weeks of Academic Travel trips per year
Lead an Advisor group of nine students
Dorm Parent Duties
Reside in one of the dorms
Join a dorm team and participate in dorm duty throughout the week
13 weekend duties in the year (including shared weekends)
Lead weekend activities when on duty during the weekend
Attend dorm parent meetings with the Dorm Head
Attend occasional meetings with students (with the dorm team)
Participate in all mandatory dorm activities
Participate in emergency training
Lead one or two activities per sports term (possibly including the yearbook)
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
