Andrews Osborne Academy is seeking an experienced Physics Teacher for the 2018-19 school year.
This is a full time position and the ideal candidate would have experience teaching Physics (including AP Physics and AP Physics C).
The successful candidate must possess the interest and energy to thrive within a lively workplace, a genuine appreciation of adolescents, a sense of humor and the ability to work in a highly collaborative and collegial environment, as well as, be comfortable incorporating the use of various technologies to support student learning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key duties for faculty members include classroom instruction; effective communication with students, parents and colleagues; active participation in the work of the department on curriculum and pedagogy.
Teacher should possess experience and knowledge in all levels of Upper School Physics, including AP level courses.
Desire to design and build an Engineering curriculum is a plus, but not required.
Serve as a faculty advisor to 8-10 students.
Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies with technology to meet the needs of all students.
Collaborate with staff members to create engaging lessons and a positive school culture.
Provide tutoring to individual and small student groups as required.
Sponsor a student club.
Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree at a minimum in Physics or other closely related field
Teaching experience at the Upper School level – preferably at an Independent School
