The Packer Collegiate Institute seeks an energetic individual to teach Upper School Chemistry and Physics. Candidates should have a strong and diverse background in science, and enthusiasm for working with high school students. The position will include teaching 10th grade Chemistry and 9th grade Physics as part of a team of dedicated and committed science teachers. The focus of the science department is on interactive, experiential learning and depth of understanding rather than breadth of coverage. The candidate should have a strong background education in chemistry and with teaching experience in both disciplines.
The successful candidate should be committed to regular and ongoing collaboration with colleagues, curriculum development, and his/her own continued professional development. As Packer is a fully integrated laptop school, extensive experience with the use of computers and computer-based probes is strongly desired.
Diversity is a core value at Packer, and we are actively seeking applications from a broad pool of potential candidates. Packer is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin in its admissions or employment practices.
