The Maintenance Mechanic is a member of the facilities team for the School. This position independently performs semiskilled preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance tasks associated with the upkeep and operation of the school. In addition this position is responsible for various types of maintenance and facilities functions, building and building equipment. This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs malfunctions in boilers, electrical, hydraulic, irrigation, heating, refrigeration, ventilation and air conditioning systems or any other plant related equipment.
Installs new/replacement equipment and material in the School by performing electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, boiler, irrigation, heating, venting, air condition and other maintenance work.
Assists with maintaining building security and responds to building emergencies as needed.
Maintains a professional and courteous working relationship with staff, faculty, parents, and other event coordinators.
Coordinates and assists with departmental and employee moves as needed.
Dismantles and installs furniture as needed.
Assists in set-up and tear-down of special events.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
3-5 years proven experience in facilities maintenance or related field
High School Graduate
Associates Degree in any discipline is preferred
