St. James' Episcopal School is a diverse community of learners. With over 370 students and 70 faculty, St. James' services students from Preschool-Sixth Grade.
In our lower school, teachers use whole-class instruction, small-group lessons, and individual instruction depending on content and the understanding of the subject matter at hand. Additionally, our curriculum and core beliefs describe the many ways we encourage children to be the best they can be and how we integrate subjects in meaningful ways. Additionally, technology integration contributes to the success of our academic program, and we use current tools like SMARTBoards, interactive projectors, Chromebooks, iPads, and computers to bring greater access to information and to assist students in organizing, creating, and presenting what they have learned in a variety of formats.
The qualified applicant will have at least three years full time classroom teaching experience and be able to work well with colleagues, adminstrators, and other professionals in the community. Must have BA or BS degree and teaching credential and a warm and positive spirit, a sound understanding of and affection for elementary-age children, experience working with students and families of diverse cultural, socio-economic and racial backgrounds, and experience planning curriculum and implementing differentiated instruction.
