Professional Opportunity: Middle School and Upper School Math Teacher (.8 FTE)

Saint George’s School seeks a Middle School and Upper School Math teacher for the 2018-19 school year beginning July 1, 2018. The classes to be taught could include Middle School classes in Pre-Algebra & Algebra, and Upper School classes in Algebra II w/ Trigonometry, Geometry, Calculus, and Statistics. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated expertise in their disciplines, love working with adolescents and their parents, have a strong understanding of pedagogy, a desire to collaborate closely with colleagues, and an interest in encouraging cross-curricular connections. Teach students in grades 7-12
Prepare and facilitate 4 math classes per day
Develop mentoring relationships with students
Provide a class experience that matches the school culture of developing each student’s talents
Provide feedback to students and families in a timely manner
Attend weekly and monthly staff meetings
Academic advising of students
Supervise study halls
Lead Math club (stipend)
Other related duties as assigned

Degree in Mathematics required
Certification and 3 – 5 years of experience preferred.
