Professional Opportunity: Lower School 2nd Grade Teacher
Saint George’s School, founded in 1954, is an independent, coeducational day K-12 school located on the Little Spokane River north of Spokane. The Lower School, grades Kindergarten through Fifth Grade, offers a vibrant and challenging academic program which encourages children to explore their diverse world, expand their creativity, develop their sense of self, and build lasting friendships. The personal teacher-student connection fosters inquiry, critical thinking, and risk-taking as each child is empowered to take ownership of their learning and is encouraged to translate their knowledge into action and reflection.
This position will be a 1.0, regular faculty appointment.

Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment characterized by autonomous learning and respect.
Design and develop creative and challenging curriculum using content based approach and experiential learning methods.
Utilize different strategies to meet students’ skill levels, learning styles, and social/emotional needs.
Develop programs that encourage leadership, problem-solving, and team building.
Incorporate technology into content areas.
Teach mathematics using an integrated approach including multiple strategies and concrete experiences.
Work closely with other classrooms and colleagues in cooperative efforts.
Work closely with a supportive and active parent community.
Perform other duties as assigned.
