The Derryfield School seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Spanish teacher, grades 6-12.
The ideal candidate will possess native or near-native ability in Spanish as well as a strong academic background in Spanish language and Hispanic cultures. The candidate must be able to teach all levels of Spanish through AP Spanish and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, an innovative approach to teaching a world language in the 21st Century, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. Responsibilities of the position include a combination of classroom teaching, student advising, and coaching or its equivalent.
The ideal candidate will be an educator with:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Spanish
Three or more years of successful classroom experience teaching
Teaching experience with implementing technology and multimedia in the classroom
Academic and student life leadership experience
A proven commitment to the development of young people as individual learners
A track record of collaboration with colleagues.
