Position Available: Canterbury School seeks an experienced Chemistry teacher for employment beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. Candidates must enjoy working with adolescents, must possess an exceptional work ethic and embrace a commitment to teamwork. Strong preference will be given to candidates with an advanced, subject-area degree and a minimum of five years of comparable teaching experience. Candidates must be able to teach all levels, including AP Chemistry and Chemistry, and act as a mentor to younger science teachers. The position includes dormitory duty, extra-curricular activities, advising students, and serving as an athletic coach.
School Setting: Canterbury is a co-educational, boarding high school (9-postgraduate) located in northwestern Connecticut, approximately one hour northeast of New York City. The school is comprised of approximately 325 students (of whom two-thirds are boarding) possesses fine facilities and faculty housing, and is committed to the continuing education of the faculty.
