Position Available: Canterbury School seeks an experienced Theology teacher for employment beginning in the 2018-2019 school year. Candidates must enjoy working with adolescents, possess an exceptional work ethic and embrace a commitment to teamwork. Expectations of the position include efficient and effective communication to students, colleagues and parents. Strong preference will be given to candidates with an advanced, subject-area degree. The position includes dormitory supervision, extra-curricular activities, advising students, and serving as an athletic coach (especially boys’ lacrosse, boys’ ice hockey or Head Varsity Swim Coach) or afternoon activity advisor, typically in 2 of the 3 seasons.
School setting: Canterbury is a co-educational, boarding high school located in northwestern Connecticut, approximately one hour northeast of New York City. The school is comprised of approximately 325 students (of whom two-thirds are boarding) possesses fine facilities and faculty housing, and is committed to the continuing education of the faculty.
