Charlotte Latin School seeks an Upper School teacher of Classical Languages for a full-time, 10-month position that will begin August, 2018. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in Latin literature, an eagerness to teach grammar and mythology in a variety of courses in grades 9-12, and a profound commitment to educating Upper School students. Beyond these considerations, the ability and desire to teach Attic Greek are also a decided plus, although not required. Additional responsibilities may include the sponsoring of co-curricular activities such as Junior Classical League, advising and/or coaching.
Several years of relevant lead teaching experience and a Bachelor's degree are required, Master's degree preferred. The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher who exhibits strong collegiality, appreciation for the School's culture and core values, sincere interest in contributing to student life activities, and delight in his or her vocation.
