The School Administrator (SA) serves as the chair of the Susquehanna Waldorf School (SWS) administrative team. In consensus with the Advisory Council, the SA represents the will of the College of Teachers. The SA works with the Advisory Council to carry out the school's educational programs to the highest standards of excellence and leads the administrative staff to support these programs. The SA oversees the day-to-day management of the school. Together with the College of Teachers, the administrative staff, the Board of Trustees and the Parent Guild, the SA collaborates to support a healthy and vibrant school community.
Experience in a Waldorf environment.
Prior administrative/management experience.
Ability to think strategically and effectively handle competing priorities.
Ability to relate to all members of the school community and work as part of a team.
Ability to facilitate conflict resolution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with organizational skills.
Ability to facilitate the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a school-shared vision and strategic plan supported by the school community.
The SA is a full-time, year round position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
This position is overseen by the Board of Trustees in collaboration with the College of Teachers through the Advisory Council. Performance is evaluated quarterly for the first year of employment followed by bi-annual reviews thereafter.
The Susquehanna Waldorf School is situated on the banks of the Susquehanna River in historic Marietta, Pa., within two hours of major cities such as Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia. Our school celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, and is enjoying a growing enrollment (Early Childhood through 8th grade), active parent community, and a healthy Board of Trustees. We are a fully accredited member of WECAN (Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America) and an associate member of AWSNA (Association of Waldorf Schools of North America).
