Notre Dame Preparatory School, a Catholic, independent school for girls in grades 6-12 in Towson, is seeking a Director of Advancement to lead its fundraising and alumnae relations activities. There are more than 6,000 living alumnae, and the school’s current endowment is $20.9 million. The right candidate will enjoy working in a mission-driven, religious educational setting. Reporting to the Headmistress, the Director of Advancement is responsible for developing and managing all fundraising, including annual giving, endowments, restricted and planned giving, which are designed to raise funds for operating costs, building repairs and improvements, financial aid, school endowments, and other special purposes.
Other duties of the position include:
develop and manage all fundraising, including annual giving, endowments, restricted and planned giving
coordinate all other outside fundraising activities originating in either the alumnae, Parents’ Association, Booster Club, Friends of the Arts, or other school organizations
oversee the development and implementation of alumnae and constituent programs, including publicity and entertainment functions
develop marketing programs and publications that support development, in conjunction with the Director of Communications
attend Board of Trustees meetings
maintain constituency files and contribution records, and provide periodic reports to the Headmistress, the Board of Trustees, and the Advancement Committee
build a comprehensive donor/prospect database
staff and oversee ongoing research activities aimed at enhancing and expanding the school’s donor base
solicit major gifts for the school
oversee/coordinate grant writing projects
supervise the members of the Advancement Office
serve on the school’s Headmistress’ Council
act as Staff Liaison to the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees and Board Resources Committee of the Board of Trustees

5 years of successful experience in comprehensive advancement programs;
