This is a full-time position as physical education and health teacher serving all three divisions of the school. Experience and background in curriculum in both areas are of particular interest. A successful candidate will also serve as an academic advisor in the Upper School and coach both in the Middle and Upper School. The coaching needs vary year to year but demonstrated leadership and experience in the following sports is of interest for the coming year: Varsity Boys Basketball, Varsity Football, MS Football and MS Softball. This position also involves supervision in the locker room, at athletic contests, as well as departmental responsibilities assigned by the Athletic Director.

Varsity Boys Basketball, Varsity Football, MS Football and MS Softball.
Middle school (two seasons) soccer, basketball, lacrosse and/or volleyball.
To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
To instruct athletes in a way that leads to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
To have updated CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification.
To supervise the locker room before and after each practice.
To help prepare and oversee the middle school winter I & II physical education program.
To teach physical education classes in the early childhood program, lower, middle, and upper schools as designated by the Athletic Director.
To teach health classes as needed at the LS, MS, US levels.
To facilitate the development of students so that they may reach their fullest potential as human beings.
Physical Education classes are to be diverse enough to accommodate the differences in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor maturation and skill rates of each individual child’s level of development.
To advise a group of high school students in the Upper School Advisory Program.
Coordination of Schedules, Programs, and Supervision:
To help formulate and coordinate curriculum in grades PG through twelve.
To help formulate a budget for physical education and athletics.
To inventory and keep control of equipment and uniforms.
To sit on any sub-committee deemed necessary by the Athletic Director.
To set up with the Athletic Director a schedule for your supervision during the winter season.
To schedule indoor facility use for the middle school program.
To help coordinate and run field days and high school Battle Of The Classes event.
To keep the men’s coaches office as neat and organized as possible.
To attend scheduled meetings with the Athletic Director to discuss philosophical issues and concerns.
To attend back to school nights that are designated by the Athletic Director.
To attend coaches meetings within the Public School League, Section VIII as needed.
To attend physical education department meetings, coaching meetings, advisory meetings, and Quaker meeting, and to attend faculty meetings designated by the Athletic Director.
An undergraduate degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science and/or Health is required. A Masters degree is preferred. Three to five years teaching and coaching are desired as well as experience working in three division school.
