Trevor is seeking a part-time Middle School Spanish teacher beginning with the 2018-2019 academic year.
Responsibilities include teaching 3 or 4 sections of Middle School Spanish. World Language classes are activity-based classes that rely little on textbook programs and are taught immersion style. The successful candidate will be familiar with thematic units, backwards design and student-centered learning. Experience with integrating technology in World Language teaching and the creative use of this technology is essential for this position. Candidates with at least three years of full time teaching experience are preferred.
Masters degree preferred.
Native fluency preferred.
Three of more years of experience teaching Spanish to Middle School students.
Incorporation of all four modalities of language (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) into instruction
Ability to teach French is a plus, but not required.
Experience with inquiry-based learning
Varied methods of assessing student learning and providing effective feedback
Successful integration of technology into the curriculum
Ability to teach to range of learning styles and be comfortable with differentiated instruction
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and their families
Interest in professional growth and school wide initiatives
