Plan and direct a logical scope and sequence for Middle and Upper School course offerings.
Accompany both choirs for rehearsals and performances, including - but not limited to - Christmas and Spring concerts.
Play piano for Middle and Upper school weekly chapels, as well as other school ceremonies and services.
Is a participating member of the Fine and Performing Arts Department. Attends those meetings as well as those of the Division Heads.
Takes part in continuing professional development through inservice training, school visits, conferences, workshops, etc.
Establishes communication channels with parents, particularly with those of students having difficulty.
Carries out additional tasks (such as lunch duty, club sponsor efforts, detention duty, or field trip assistance) effectively.
Maintains good classroom management through positive relationships with both students and parents.
Creates a supportive environment for learning and encourages students to take artistic risks.
Is a supportive colleague among the members of the faculty.
The position requires an individual with a degree in music; master degree preferred.
Should be a skilled accompanist on piano and/or organ.
Able to direct music (rehearse for and/or play in the pit) for musicals and other performances.
Experience with directing handbell choir is a plus.
Able to attend after-school and evening rehearsals at various times throughout the school year.
