North Country School is a small junior boarding school in Lake Placid, NY for students in Grades 4-9. Family-style living, outdoor education, and a hands-on approach to academics are unique qualities of our program. With a 3-1 student-teacher ratio, children receive a well-rounded education focused on the development of the whole child; we have strong programming in both studio and performing arts; we live on a small working farm that educates students about sustainability and other environmental issues; we value and strive towards diversity in our community; we live in family-style houses not dorms; and we also have a strong outdoor program that uses the surrounding Adirondack Park to challenge students in the pursuit of life-long pursuits such as horseback riding, hiking, overnight camping, rock climbing, mountain biking, alpine and Nordic skiing, ice skating, and ice climbing.
North Country School seeks candidates with at least 3 years experience teaching English at the middle school level to teach
7th grade English and 9th grade English.
As members of a boarding school community, faculty also have responsibilities in the school's residential, outdoor, and weekend programs.
Interested candidates should send a letter of interest, along with a current résumé and contact information for three professional references, to Louisa Munoz at firstname.lastname@example.org.
About North Country School
