Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, has an immediate opening for a full-time Administrative Assistant in its Lower School Office. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83.
The Administrative Assistant will report to the Head of Lower School and will provide administrative support to the Head of Lower School and other members of the lower school administrative staff. This is a 12-month position and responsibilities will include the following duties:
Provide general assistance and administrative support such as answering phones, providing assistance to parents, students, and visitors.
Assist in maintaining a student database by entering attendance, grades, and other pertinent information as required.
Assist with the planning and coordination of Lower School events.
Track employee and student attendance.
Maintain inventory of office supplies and perform general office management duties.
Distribute incoming mail and assist faculty with administrative needs such as copying and printing of class materials.
Other duties as assigned by Head of Lower School.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and two or more years of related experience. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, telephone manners, keyboarding, and organizational skills. This position requires absolute confidentiality and professionalism. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required and experience with a database system is a plus.
