Greens Farms Academy seeks an Upper School Environmental and LifeScience teacher to begin in August 2018. Coursework will likely include AP Environmental Science, Biology, and related electives; the ability to teach other science courses is a plus. GFA faculty are typically involved outside the classroom in a variety of ways, including advising, chaperoning trips and events, leading extracurricular clubs, and/or coaching.There may also be opportunities to advise students engaged in independent science research projects. The teacher will join a thriving Science Department, which recently helped launch a program for graduating students to earn a diploma with a concentration in Human Ecology & Sustainability. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of teaching experience, an advanced degree in a related field, a passion for working with high school students, an interest in place-based learning, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive community.
Greens Farms Academy is a PreK-12 co-educational day school of 715 students in the Greens Farms section of Westport, CT. We are a suburban school close to major transportation and a five-minute walk from the Greens Farms Metro North train station.
