Job Summary: Francis W. Parker School is a renowned JK-12th grade independent day school. We are currently seeking a 10-month full time Upper School Science Lab Technician to support the teaching faculty in their efforts to provide safe, effective, hands-on, inquiry-based laboratory work to students as an integral part of Science instruction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain the lab and its equipment.
Keep an ongoing dialogue with teachers about the labs they are conducting.
Assist teachers in developing and executing the labs.
Help teachers be more conscious of the safety procedures and aware of the resources available.
Order all of the chemicals, equipment, teaching materials, live specimens, perishable materials that are needed for labs.
Replenish depleted stock and replace any breakage in a timely fashion.
Check in all incoming merchandise, distribute to appropriate teachers, or store in the proper location.
Serve as liaison between science departments and other constituents of the School that use science equipment.
Maintain an inventory of all equipment, resource materials, and chemicals.
