The ideal candidate would a) be a licensed school counselor, b) have two years professional experience with psycho-social counseling of teens, c) be comfortable working with both students and parents in a diverse setting, d) work well in a collaborative environment, e) have strong verbal and written communication skills, and f) must be a person of Christian faith who is comfortable in a multidenominational Christian community. The main duties would be:
Help students with the transition to 9th grade year including academic planning, social-emotional development, and self-advocacy.
Be knowledgeable about the opportunities in the school community, and encourage students and parents toward those that might benefit the student.
Work with social-emotional needs of students.
Meet with students and families regularly to address concerns or as part of the counseling curriculum
