(School Secretary & Receptionist, Assistant to the Head of School, Medication Technician)
Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences, an accredited coeducational independent day school for 130 students (grades EC-8), is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join its staff as an Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time 12-month position. Our mission is to provide a joyful and supportive learning environment for the development of excellence in each of us. The Administrative Assistant of Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences reports directly to the Head of School. The primary responsibility of the Administrative Assistant is to be “the point of contact” by meeting and greeting visitors, answering and directing calls, assisting the Head of School, maintaining emergency and medical information and records for students. Providing first aid and dispensing medication in accordance with regulations, and other duties as outlined.
Duties and Responsibilities
Meet and Greet Visitors
Answer, direct, and relay all calls promptly
Maintain accurate student attendance records and communicate absences/ tardies/ early dismissals/ pickup changes to all necessary persons
Accept all deliveries and assure they are routed to appropriate class/office
Organize and distribute print communication (such as report cards, newsletters, fliers, Move Up Day mailings, August mailings, etc.) to all necessary community members
Serve as point person for copier maintenance needs
Notify teachers, staff and bus drivers of any bus or carpool changes
Assist with arrival/ dismissal procedures as required
Schedule conference times with faculty and parents
Generate and update class lists, employee contact lists, birthday lists, attendance sheets, and other such school wide information sheets.
ASSISTANT TO THE HEAD OF SCHOOL:
Meet weekly with the Head of School
Support the Head of School with scheduling, short and long range planning, and other administrative duties as required
Communicate with Board members on the Head’s behalf as directed by the Head
Communicate Board materials in advance of meetings
Maintain high levels of confidentiality with all such Board materials
MEDICATION TECHNICIAN DUTIES:
Administer daily medications at the appropriate time following procedures
Maintain records and medications following required procedures as instructed by CMT training and delegating nurse
Provide basic first aid as trained
Notify parents when students become sick or injured
Report and document all injuries
Attend regular Health and Safety
