Connelly School of the Holy Child invites applications for the full-time position of Christian Service Coordinator for the 2018-2019 academic year. Connelly School of the Holy Child, a Catholic college preparatory school educating young women in grades 6 -12, emphasizes academic challenge, joy of learning, and education of well-rounded women of faith and action. Holy Child’s dedication to social justice and community service is core to the school’s mission.
Holy Child’s Service program, a dynamic component of the school and the Campus Ministry Office, seeks to sponsor diverse, meaningful, and relevant opportunities for members of the school community to live out the spiritual and corporal works of mercy in direct service to others.
Working with all stakeholders within the school community, including students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumnae, to build a network of support for service opportunities, fundraising efforts, and school-wide service projects.
Being responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing the school’s community outreach efforts, as well as supporting the grade-level service requirement.
Facilitating a Middle School elective course, “Charity in Action”, promoting service learning, exploration, and reflection.
Integrating a spirit of service into the daily life of the school and the students through the prayers and liturgies, in the classroom, and through regular and meaningful service experiences and reflection.
Reports to and collaborates with the Director of Campus Ministry for the responsibilities described here, as well as to support other efforts of the Campus Ministry office as needed, including supporting liturgy, prayer, retreats, and student leadership and training.
The Idea Candidate will possess:
Successful candidates should have experience working with students in grades 6-12 in service learning, along with energy, enthusiasm, and a deep commitment to Gospel values.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness and time to lead and chaperone diverse local, national, and international service experiences in education and partnership with young women are essential.
Practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church
A Bachelors / Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Connelly School of the Holy Child Founded in 1961 by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus as a college preparatory school for girls grade 6-12. The school is part of a network of 33 Holy Child schools in the United States, Europe and Africa, which is guided by the educational philosophy of Cornelia Connelly. Holy Child enrolls approximately 300 students every year from the Washington, DC metropolitan area as well as across the globe.
