Walker seeks a dynamic, experienced Primary School Counselor/Play Therapist for the 18-19 school year.The ideal candidate for the role of Primary School counselor is an individual with an expertise in childhood development, with a concentration of experience with children ages three to six years old. Practice guiding and consulting with parents, along with having an understanding of educational behavior management, teaching social skills and character development, and working individually with students with social/emotional needs will be necessary skills for this role. Candidates with training and knowledge of play therapy techniques and practice will be given preference.

Experience: Counseling experience preferred.
Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret educational research, professional journals (both in print and electronic format). Ability to write student reports, newsletters, and publishable classroom updates using technology. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, parents, colleagues, and, at times, the general public.
Mathematical skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations such as grading, budgeting for materials, calculating the cost of field trips.
Reasoning ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
