Serving approximately 155 students in pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade, Dutchess Day School is seeking an experienced professional to lead its advancement and development efforts. The Director of Institutional Advancement is responsible for all institutional advancement and alumni relations as well as ongoing fundraising and special event activities. Key tasks will include managing and soliciting gifts for the Dutchess Day Fund (Annual Fund), planning and executing larger scale campaigns, organizing special fundraising events, cultivating donors throughout the DDS community, and working in concert with the Head of School and Director of Admission on all marketing endeavors. The Director of Institutional Advancement reports to the Head of School, is a key member of the administrative team, and works closely with the Parents’ Association and Board of Trustees.
Candidates should hold a B.A. degree, have three or more years of nonprofit fundraising experience or similar for-profit institutional experience, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, and have strong interpersonal skills. Previous experience in independent schools is preferred.
