As a teacher and coach, this person will work as an integral member of the physical education and athletics department by implementing and maintaining the school’s comprehensive pre-kindergarten through grade eight program. A qualified candidate will possess a joy for teaching and will promote a physically active and healthy lifestyle in elementary and middle school students’ lives. They will be an enthusiastic, dynamic and vibrant member of the community who upholds the school’s values and shares a dedication to educating the whole child.
Co-teach physical education classes in grades PK-5
Coach middle school athletic teams in grades 6-8
Teach as a member of the Health and Wellness team
Collaborate to design and implement a comprehensive PK-8 curriculum
Commit to fostering a diverse and inclusive community in and out of the classroom
Demonstrate instructional excellence by knowing students, adapting curriculum, and keeping careful anecdotal records to write thoughtful reports
Remain current with best practices for the developmental needs of children and adolescents, and take advantage of professional development opportunities
