BB&N is seeking a full-time Upper School History teacher with background in Psychology. Primary responsibilities include teaching four history classes. Additional responsibilities include attending weekly History Department and discipline-specific meetings, contributing to History Department/Upper School initiatives as determined by the Department Head and the Upper School Director, and one other significant duty (coaching one season or otherwise) as determined by the Upper School Director.
The ideal candidate should have:
Over 3 years of experience teaching at the high-school level in high school.
An advanced degree in education.
Academic background in psychology
In addition, the candidate will demonstrate the following:
Capacity to communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
Commitment to modeling and exhibiting high standards of professional conduct
Excellent writing skills
Desire to work with high school aged students
Predisposition to reflect warmth and a positive spirit
