The Baldwin School is seeking a long-term Substitute for Middle School Art, beginning the week of August 27 through November 5th. This long-term substitute position will focus on both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artmaking including the integration of technology through graphic design and digital photography. We welcome candidates who have experience in some combination of these fields, as the actual teaching assignment involves multiple areas.
Qualified candidates must have earned at least a BFA, BA in Art Education, or a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in an art or education related field. An advanced degree is preferred. Teaching experience is expected, particularly at the Middle School level. In addition to the ability to teach the subject material effectively, engage students positively, and interact productively with colleagues and parents, the successful candidate will have a knowledge of and strong facility in multiple art media and the ability to organize an art studio safely and effectively.
